Thank you.
My friend and I can help as volunteers 13-25 May. She is a nurse. We don’t mind clearing rubble, cleaning, nursing, cooking – anything really.
We speak enough Italian to get by, are hard working and easy going.
Please let me know if anyone could use us.
Barbara Faibish
Barbara — that is very kind of you, thank you.
Please try and contact either Italian Red Cross (email: urp@cri.it ; telephone: +39 06 42012525; fax #: +39 06 42870115) or Caritas (email: caritas.internationalis@caritas.va ; telephone: + 39 06 69879799; fax #: + 39 06 69887237), as people at Protezione Civile (rescue volunteers) said it’s better to be linked to an ONG rather than apply for volunteering as private citizens.
Hi Barbara (and any others),
I just wanted to see if you had any luck in getting through to the Crocce Rosse or Caritas. I am also looking into going to Abruzzo to do whatever if needed but am having a hard time finding out what I can do and how I can go about doing it.
